Pay

• Prep cook $18.50 - $19.50 per hour
• Hours: 7am-9:00pm based on the needs of the company.

Job description Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a strong understanding of food preparation techniques. This role is essential in ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently, providing high-quality meals to our guests. The Prep Cook will work closely with chefs and kitchen staff to prepare ingredients, maintain cleanliness, and assist in meal preparation—experience cooking large volumes is a major plus. Duties

• Prepare and chop vegetables, fruits, and other ingredients for cooking, strong knife skills
• Assist in cooking meals according to established recipes and standards
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area
• Follow food safety protocols to ensure the highest standards of hygiene
• Help with menu planning by providing input on seasonal ingredients and dish ideas
• Perform food handling tasks, including portioning and plating dishes
• Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during meal periods
• Assist in catering events as needed, ensuring all food is prepared to specifications
• Utilize knife skills effectively for efficient meal preparation

Experience

• Previous experience in a dietary department or as a dietary aide is preferred
• Background in menu planning and food preparation within a restaurant or catering environment is advantageous
• Familiarity with food service operations and food handling best practices is essential
• Culinary experience that includes cooking, meal preparation, and knowledge of food safety regulations is required
• Experience working in a fast-paced kitchen environment with strong teamwork skills is highly valued
• Part-time hours vary: 8am-10pm based on the needs of the company.
