Prep. Cook / Line Cook Full-Time

Busy Mexican restaurant in San Pedro is seeking a prep/line cook for a full-time role. Current need is for Thursday thru Saturday Dinner shift hours and Monday/Wednesday day prep shift hours. Approximately 40hrs/week. This is not a chef or kitchen manager position. Key Responsibilities

• General food prep of vegetables, produce, proteins.
• Prepare, cook, and plate menu items according to recipes and standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized work station.
• Work with the kitchen team to maintain quick and efficient food preparation and plating.
• Monitor food quality to ensure that all dishes prepared and presented to our high standards.
• Follow all sanitation and safety procedures, including proper food handling and storage practices.
• Must have a positive and professional attitude while working under pressure.
• Take direction and complete tasks quickly and efficiently.

Qualifications

• 1+ years kitchen cooking required.
• Experience with Mexican cuisine preferred.
• Ability to work as part of a team and communicate clearly.
• Must have PM weekend availability for dinner shifts.

-English/Spanish communication skills preferred.

• Confidence with knife skills, clean station, and fast paced service.
• Reliable, on time, and serious about food safety and cleanliness.
• California food handling certification required (or ability to obtain one).
