Job Summary
- The Line Cook is responsible for preparing and plating food items to the highest standards in one of the Grand Hyatt Grand Cayman’s restaurants, or events operations. This role requires attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining all safety and cleanliness protocols.
Job Duties & Functions
- Prepare assigned dishes and recipes according to established standards and presentations.
- Set up and maintain the station before, during, and after service, ensuring proper mise en place and ingredient rotation.
- Follow all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation guidelines at all times.
- Operate all kitchen equipment safely and maintain cleanliness of station and surrounding areas.
- Carry out basic cooking techniques in a timely and efficient manner such as chopping, slicing, mincing, poaching, grilling, sauteing, braising, roasting, etc.
- Support the kitchen team during service and coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service.
- Assist with inventory, labeling, and proper storage of all ingredients.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by kitchen leadership.

- Performs other duties and attends meetings, as assigned by hotel/department leadership.
Education & Experience
- Minimum 3 years' experience as a Line Cook in a 4- or 5-star hotel or fine dining restaurant.
- Familiarity with a range of cooking techniques and kitchen equipment.
- Ability to follow instructions and work in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Able to take direction and follow specific instructions in high pressure situations.
- Have good time management skills.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English; knowledge of additional languages is an advantage.
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Capable of standing for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
