Artisan Baker

Grateful Bread Company, a wholesale and retail artisan bakery, is seeking an experienced Artisan Baker to join our team. Full-time hours, either Mon - Fri or Tues - Sat.

We need someone who

• is a team player

• makes clean and quick transitions between projects
• excels in a fast-paced environment
• is routine-oriented, with the ability to adapt
• has the ability to work with their hands to create a wide variety of artisan bread shapes
• is fast on their feet, able to lift 50 pounds or more
• can spend time leaning forward, squatting, folding, and kneading
• has an understanding of health and safety procedures in a professional kitchen setting

Grateful Bread Company is a family owned and operated, rapidly growing artisan bakery. Grounded in artisan philosophy and focused on quality above all else, we are committed to using only the finest natural, organic, and locally sourced ingredients, including organic whole grain flours milled in-house with our Osttiroler stone flour mill. Our artisan philosophy is at the heart of our bakery - we wouldn't be who we are without it.

Our founder has been baking artisan breads for over 35 years, and he has developed our custom formulas to meet the needs of our chef-driven restaurants. Every Saturday we open a retail shop to the public which includes a selection of exclusive pastries, pretzels and specialty breads.

We don't use any chemicals or preservatives, and we use natural starters and long fermentation processes to create true Old-World-style artisan breads. We use a different starter for nearly every type of dough, including our 24-year-old natural sourdough starter, which is what gives our breads their unique character and flavor.

Our guiding philosophy is uncompromising dedication to quality, maintaining the integrity of the artisan process, using only the very best all-natural ingredients, and creating an environment for artisan bakers to thrive. We continue to strive every day to create the best handcrafted breads in Denver.

We are located at the eastern edge of Golden (Lakewood is across the street), approximately 15 to 20 minutes west of Denver via 6th Ave / I-70. Close to light rail station.
