Serpentine is looking for an experienced server to work 2 shifts a week, Sunday and Monday as well as the option of a hosting shift on Tuesday. You'll be the face of the bar — knowledgeable, personable, and attentive — ensuring every guest feels welcomed and well looked after from arrival to last call. The ideal applicant has hospitality and food service experience and is able to work great in a team environment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Greet and seat guests when needed, presenting menus and making confident recommendations on cocktails, spirits, wine, and food
- Deliver drinks and food promptly, maintaining high presentation standards
- Develop and maintain a strong knowledge of the cocktail menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and flavor profiles
- Monitor guests throughout their visit, anticipating needs and managing the pace of service
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the floor, including bussing tables and resetting stations
- Collaborate closely with bar and kitchen teams to ensure smooth, coordinated service
Requirements
- Previous NYC restaurant/bar experience, 1 year minimum.
- Must have an upbeat, outgoing, and positive attitude
- Must be able to assist guests and possess great guest relations skills
- Ability to work positively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work effectively within a team
- Ability to be on your feet and alert for extended periods of time
- Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Knowledge of spirits, cocktails, and/or wine is an advantage
