Position Overview

• The Corner Lounge, a neighborhood gem in Harlem, is building a strong, disciplined team across both front and back of house. We are hiring Hosts, Food Runners, Porters, Prep Cooks, and Line Cooks who bring professionalism, consistency, and pride to their craft.

This is a fast-paced, intimate environment where every role matters. From the first guest interaction to the final plate leaving the kitchen, execution is everything. We’re looking for individuals who show up prepared, stay engaged, and take ownership of their position. Reliability is essential, and those who thrive here are self-directed, detail-oriented, and committed to high standards. Key Responsibilities Front of House (Host / Food Runner)

• Set the tone of service through warm, confident guest interaction
• Manage flow of service, reservations, and guest experience at the door
• Deliver food efficiently, accurately, and with attention to presentation
• Communicate clearly with kitchen and service teams to ensure timing and quality
• Support the overall guest experience with awareness and urgency

Back of House (Porter / Prep Cook / Line Cook)

• Maintain a clean, organized, and fully operational kitchen environment
• Execute prep and service with consistency, speed, and attention to detail
• Uphold food quality, safety, and sanitation standards at all times
• Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service flow
• Take ownership of station, responsibilities, and daily execution

Qualifications

• Prior experience in hospitality or kitchen operations preferred (role-dependent)
• Strong work ethic with the ability to stay composed under pressure
• Detail-oriented with a sense of urgency and accountability
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a team-driven environment
• Reliable, punctual, and consistent in performance
• Availability for evenings, weekends, and peak service hours
