The Spot | Evanston, IL | Opening Late May

A new restaurant concept is opening in Evanston at the end of May, and we’re building a strong kitchen team. Our menu features classic Italian dishes with a modern, casual approach, alongside a high-volume tavern-style pizza program.

We’re seeking cooks who bring a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a team-first mindset. Candidates with at least 2 years of high-volume experience will be prioritized, but we’re open to training the right person who’s eager to learn and grow.

Compensation: $20 - $24/hour (based on experience)

Key Responsibilities

Work under the direction of the Executive Chef

Learn and execute recipes with consistency and accuracy

Complete all prep, mise en place, station setup, and breakdown

Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workspace

Support strong communication between kitchen and front-of-house teams

Follow all health department and food safety standards

Qualifications

Solid knife skills

Strong communication skills (English/Spanish preferred)

Valid Food Handler Certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days)

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods

Availability for nights, weekends, and holidays
