Catering Cook / Production Cook – Morning Shift (Sa Location: San Mateo, CA | Full-time | Mon–Fri 4:30am–1:00pm We're a busy corporate catering company in San Mateo looking for a fast, experienced lead production cook to join our morning team. This is a high-output kitchen — we need someone who can move, execute large-batch cooking, and bring a lead line cook mentality every single shift. If you thrive in volume, know how to batch cook efficiently, and take ownership of your station, we want to hear from you. Schedule Monday–Friday, 4:30am–1:00pm Occasional Sunday shifts for heavy production or special events What You'Ll Be Doing Large-batch cooking for corporate breakfast & lunch service Following recipes and our digital production app for prep & output (MUST BE ABLE TO WORK WITH TABLET) Plating box meals and buffets accurately and at pace Packing and organizing delivery orders Supporting the Sous Chef with daily kitchen operations Keeping a clean, organized station throughout your shift What We'Re Looking For Fast worker — pace matters here, this is high-volume production Large-batch / high-volume kitchen experience REQUIRED Lead line cook mentality — ownership, initiative, no hand-holding Comfortable following recipes and working off a tablet/app Strong knife skills, clean habits, organized under pressure Reliable and on time — 4:30am means 4:30am, not 4:35 Able to lift 40–50 lbs regularly NOT a fit if you've only worked small-batch or à la carte kitchens. We need someone who has cooked at scale and can hit the ground running.
