Set within a premium country club in the San Fernando Valley, our culinary program is fast-paced, multi-outlet, and member-driven. From à la carte dining to high-volume events, we are building a kitchen culture focused on consistency, accountability, and elevated execution.
We’re looking for a strong Hourly Sous Chef, a working leader who is on the line, in the flow of service, and setting the standard every shift.
This role is hands-on. You are not observing the kitchen, you are running it alongside the team.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and work alongside the team during service, ensuring execution, timing, and consistency
- Expedite service and maintain control of the line during peak periods
- Supervise and coach cooks in real time, reinforcing standards and accountability
- Ensure all dishes meet quality, portion, and presentation standards before leaving the kitchen
- Support multiple outlets including à la carte, banquets, and club events
- Assist with prep execution, station readiness, and daily kitchen organization
- Maintain strict food safety, sanitation, and HACCP standards
- Monitor product quality, storage, labeling, and rotation
- Support inventory, ordering, and cost control efforts
- Step in to run any station as needed and ensure the kitchen never slows down
- Collaborate with FOH leadership to ensure a seamless dining experience
What You Bring
- 2+ years of experience in a Sous Chef or strong line leadership role
- Proven ability to lead while actively working the line
- Strong understanding of kitchen systems, service flow, and station management
- High level of accountability, urgency, and attention to detail
- Experience in high-volume or multi-outlet environments preferred
- ServSafe or equivalent certification required
- Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays
